To keep Angels Valley Nature Lodge a peaceful retreat for all, we ask guests to follow a few simple guidelines. These policies help protect the land, wildlife, and experience for everyone.

Staying With Us

ANGELS VALLEY LODGE RULES:

Office Hours

  • Monday to Friday: 08h00 – 16h00
    Viewing is by appointment only. No walk-ins allowed.

Booking and Arrival

  • Check-in: Check-in: Check-in is strictly between 14h00 and 18h00. Early check-ins will incur an additional charge of R100 per person, per hour. The lockbox code will be sent at 14h00, so please plan accordingly. If you arrive before this time, you may need to wait at the gate until check-in is available.
  • Check-out: Strictly by 10h00. Late check-out will incur a charge of R100 per person per hour.
  • Breakage Deposit: A R1000 refundable breakage deposit is required at the time of booking. This deposit will be refunded within 7-14 days after check-out, subject to no damage or loss during your stay. ( only for self catering accommodation)
  • Booking Payment: A 50% non-refundable deposit is required to confirm your booking. The remaining balance is due 7 days before arrival. The invoice will be based on the number of guests confirmed 10 days prior to arrival.
  • Payment Adjustments: Changes in booking dates will be treated as cancellations. No refunds for cancellations after arrival or for unforeseen circumstances.

Road Access

  • Gravel Road: Our lodge is accessed via a 20 km gravel road suitable only for high-clearance vehicles. Please check weather conditions before booking, as roads may become impassable and require a 4×4 vehicle in rainy conditions.
  • Directions: Follow the Angels Valley signs. Do not rely on GPS, as it may direct you to an undrivable road. Any costs related to recovery will be your responsibility.

Facilities and Equipment

  • Solar Power: We rely on solar power. Therefore, no hair dryers, fans, or personal electrical appliances may be used.
  • Self-Catering: We are a self-catering establishment. Cleaning services can be arranged at an extra cost.
  • Fishing: Catch and release only. Please do not leave fishing lines lying around, and tidy up fishing spots before leaving.
  • No petrol motor boats are allowed, only canoes & trawling motor boats.
  • No generators are allowed at our camp site or for any other reason
  • Fire Safety: Fire is a significant risk. Ensure the fire is completely extinguished before leaving the boma. Only use designated areas for braai—no open fires allowed elsewhere.

Guest and Visitor Policies

  • No Day Visitors allowed
  • No Unauthorized Access: Respect the privacy of other guests and avoid approaching their accommodation. Campers are not allowed to use amenities from self-catering units, including appliances and resources.
  • Children: Children under 2 years old stay for free but must sleep with their parents or bring their own cot. Standard children’s fees apply for additional beds.
  • Children (0-13 years): Children must bring their own towels. If parents request towels, we will provide them; however, the parents will be responsible for any charges related to stained laundry
  • No Pets: No pets are allowed on the premises.

Safety and Conduct

  • At Your Own Risk: Enter the premises at your own risk. The owners and staff cannot be held liable for any injury, damage, or theft.
  • Speed Limit: The speed limit on the property is 10 km/h.
  • Gates: Please keep all gates closed at all times.
  • Noise: No loud music or excessive noise. Silence after 21h00.
  • Alcohol: Excessive alcohol use is not permitted.
  • Smoking: No smoking inside any houses or tents.
  • Littering: No littering. Please keep the grounds clean. Glass bottles are not allowed in the river.
  • Wildlife: Do not feed or disturb wildlife. Keep all food and belongings out of reach.
  • Wood: No wood may be taken for personal use. A fine will be imposed if this rule is violated

Housekeeping and Cleanliness

  • Dishes: Please wash and put away dishes before check-out. Any unwashed dishes will incur a R200 fee from your breakage deposit.
  • Cleaning Fees: A R500 cleaning fee will be charged for any unkempt units.
  • Tidy Up: Please leave the unit as tidy as you found it.
  • Always close all windows and doors when leaving the unit. Our wildlife and farm animals love to explore, and you will be held accountable for any damage caused by their entry.

Rules for All Guests

  • No Unauthorized Movement of Furniture: Do not remove or move any furniture or furnishings unless authorized.
  • Damage to Property: Any damage to property will be deducted from the breakage deposit.
  • Trees and Plants: Do not damage any plants or vegetation. No trees may be broken, and no wood may be taken from the farm.
  • No Hunting: Hunting and the use of firearms (including pellet guns and paintball guns) are strictly prohibited.
  • Appliances and Equipment: No personal appliances are allowed, and campers may not use the facilities of self-catering units.

Cancellation Policy

  • Non-Refundable: A 100% charge applies for the entire reserved period, including any changes or cancellations made before or after arrival.
  • Postponements: No booking postponements will be accepted.
